Phil Jones, who used to study climatic change sitting back at home, has now become Director of the university's world renowned Climatic Research Unit which charts the Earth's temperature.
He was well aware of the peril that looms large in front of the whole earth. Increased interference of human beings with nature is slowly, but surely, leading to climatic change. Some people are not concerned with this problem in any way and are living in the assumption that humans are not the only cause for global climatic change.
Someone hacked 1,073 emails from the Unit's computers and launched "climategate". The emails showed, "scientists are guilty of anger toward global warming skeptics, but they do not support claims that climate change is a vast conspiracy".
A study has revealed that changes in Arctic sea ice, atmospheric moisture, and saltiness of parts of the Atlantic Ocean and temperature changes in the Antarctic are due to human interference.
Dr Peter Stott said, "What this study shows is that the evidence has strengthened for human influence on climate and we know that because we've looked at evidence across the climate system and what this shows very clearly is a consistent picture of a warming world".
