Finch Paper LLC cuts 44 jobs in past two weeks

Finch Paper LLC cuts 44 jobs in past two weeks Finch Paper Holdings LLC, maker of the Finch Paper brand of uncoated printing papers, has fired 44 workers over the past two weeks in response to worsening economic conditions.

Finch Paper Holdings LLC, which is owned by an investor group led by Atlas Holdings LLC ("Atlas Holdings") and Blue Wolf Capital Management LLC ("Blue Wolf"), now employs 800 full-time workers in Glens Falls, its headquarters.

The privately held company has taken the decision to cut production and staff, due to decline in orders list. Finch Paper makes papers used for direct mailing, marketing and catalogs.

A company official stated that, the latest layoffs are temporary and the Finch paper would make further cuts, or hires, based on the rise and fall of orders.

Presently, the sector is witnessing slump in paper demand across the country, due to ongoing financial crisis.
