Bank of Canada to Introduce Plastic Money

The Bank of Canada revealed that it plans to introduce plastic money, as plastic bill are cleaner in comparison to paper money, and also harder to forge.

Spokeswoman for the Bank of Canada, Julie Girad said that the bank would most likely introduce plastic money in 18 months. Plastic money does not soak up dirt and lasts longer.

Plastic money has been used in Australia from the time, since this technology was introduced by an Australian firm, Securency in 1980.

Securency unveils that its bills have several safety features that makes the money hard to forge.

The note can be written with metallic-looking threads which are found on paper notes also. Its threads do not need to be in straight lines as they can be curved.

The plastic bills will let the Bank of Canada propose more sophisticated banknotes, with clear windows in them, including further embedded security precautions.

Australian firms shared that the countries using plastic notes have much less forging in comparison to those countries like Canada that still use paper.

Use of plastic notes keeps merchants less stressful.
