It has been reported that the cabbie association in Edmonton wants the business of cab dispatching to be taken over by the city Government. This protest has broken out right after a cab company in that local area had increased the surcharges for collision by a lot of money which was actually thousands of dollars.

So through this, most of the cabbies are looking to avoid the cab companies and subsequently take complete control of over the insurance cost of their own cab.

It was also announced that the cab company, which had jacked up the prices, had actually placed a price of about $8000 per crash and it is not affordable for most cabbies. Most cab drivers have consented to the city Government taking control as they see it as a way to avoid the high prices of that company which handles the affairs of most cabs in that area and also other cab brokers.
