Books Might be Chopped off from Apple's App Store
Apple's App Store

According to a recent report, the next section to get washed out from Apple's Apps Store might be Books. Books boast of 27,000 of the App Store's 150,000 applications.

Apple's own iBooks, which is soon to be released along with iPad, might be the reason for its elimination. It seems Books will affect the user experience for new iPad users. One of the highlighting features of the iPad is to read books using the new iBooks application. It will serve as both a book store and a very good looking eBook reader. But it is likely that iBooks will not come pre-installed on the iPad.

If an iPad user chooses to buy Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, he may run a search on the App Store, instead of doing it through the iBooks application. The apps store has at least 25 different applications featuring the book, available for between 99 cents and five dollars.

Also, Apple is making good revenue out of these paid apps, Books being one of the most popular. After all, what does it matter if it earns the revenue directly through iBooks or its apps store?

So, chances are that Apple might not remove Book from its apps store because it will make way for headlines. Taking out frivolous apps can be understood by the users but what reason will the company give if it removes Books from apps store.
