In a concerned step for protection of children who are affected by sex offenders or pedophiles, a "child sex offender's disclosure" scheme will be executed in the Thames valley by the police this summer.
According to this scheme, parents and guardians will be allowed access to all the details regarding the person who is in contact with their child, to check if the person is found to be a threat for the child's security.
The reasonably concerned parents will be assisted by the Thames valley police (TVP), especially when the individual is someone having a criminal bent.
Parents cannot pass this information further as it will be confidential. After 12 months of trail execution in some parts of country, from August this scheme will be made functional with 18 other police forces.
This scheme will be launched nationwide by 2011 March. Detective Inspector Nick Deacon heading the launch of the scheme said, "The scheme is to protect children from harm.
This is not a panacea. It is an additional tool but it gives the public the confidence to contact the police if they have concerns.
The request has to be made, then an application has to be made and then it can be considered. People will not just be able to dig for information on people".
