Ever since a recent report has speculated that Sony's PlayStation 3 would be the winner in the end, and will ultimately overtake its two main rivals - Nintendo's Wii and Microsoft's Xbox 360 gaming consoles - the electronics giant has been rejoicing.

Not only is Sony happy, the fans and owners of its popular console are also celebrating. After all, it is not everyday that someone tells you that what you currently own, or are going to get your hands on soon, is something that will be soon be ruling the charts.

The world of gaming is one where things change within a jiffy. Nothing remains too popular for very long, and companies are required to come up with something new regularly. Considering this, the fact that Strategy Analytics has said that PS3 would still be around after 5 years is definitely a huge deal!

Not only this, analysts have also predicted that 5 years down the line, when Nintendo will be busy trying to replace its Wii console, the PS3 would still be going strong.

It seems that makers of titles had already estimated that the PS3 is here to stay, and therefore they have been busy developing games to cater to the console, and the taste of its owners.

We are guessing there is a party going on in the Sony house right about now!
