Major Political Parties Insist to Redevelop Modbury
Royal Adelaide Hospital

A group of journalists had recently been the guests of ‘The Save the RAH Party’ which showed the media the Royal Adelaide Hospital to make their argument strong for rebuilding the hospital.

Dr. Jim Katsaros, candidate of Save the RAH Legislative Council, toured the media around the hospital areas which have been renovated in the past five years or less. He said, "I think it's only fair that the alternative be aired and the people of South Australia have a chance to judge for themselves what we are going to bulldoze”.

The Labor party intents to spend $44 million to redevelop the Modbury Hospital if the party is reelected, on March 20. The current South Australian Premier Mike Rann promises that the hospitals would be equipped with a new emergency department, 36 more single rooms and a rehabilitation and therapy centre. Both major parties have now promised Modbury upgrades.

The Health Minister John Hill refuted the Modbury redevelopment and the amount of $64 million previously pledged for the redevelopment. He further added, “The scale of the work needed at the RAH and the cramped site there, as well as the need to expand the critical areas of the hospital, means this would not be possible to do without huge disruption for many years and at a much higher cost”.
