A new Location-Aware application, for the iPhone and iPod touch, has been released by AccuWeather.com. The App Store has made available a free download of this unique application, which will include a range of weather forecast information, along with health weather indices and weather alarms.
AccuWeather.com is the free website of AccuWeather - the World’s Weather Authority – which presents accurate daily forecasts and weather bulletins by means of the Internet, mobile devices and IPTV. The AccuWeather meteorologists deliver numerous customized products and services to government, media, institutions and business.
The new AccuWeather.com app zeroes in on any GPS-equipped iPhone location, and automatically finds weather data. Connecting to the service, it finds radar and satellite weather information, and can also provide five-day forecasts detailing sky conditions and high and low temperatures for day as well as night.
Based on the settings, the application’s health weather indices will include UV, flu, arthritis and air quality index; and its ‘weather alarms’ will warn users about some bad weather conditions — including snow, ice, rain, wind, gusts and thunderstorms along with weather alerts issued by the government for the user’s specific area.
AccuWeather.com is designed to suit the particular needs of certain mobile and fixed web users. Information about other free AccuWeather.com applications is available at http://www.accuweather.com/downloadcenter.asp.
