Poor Air Quality Reported to be “Good” by National Environment Agency

It is increasingly being stressed on National Environment Agency to enhance the number for sensors and improve their Ambient Air Quality Report.

It has been noticed that the quality of air along the East Coast continues to be dreadfully harmful. However, the Ambient Air Quality Report published by NEA shows no signs of bad air conditions in the towns of Clairton, Glassport, Liberty, Lincoln and Port Vue. It has been reported that the ships at sea can hardly be seen because of the layer of bad air and a different smell of burnt wood can be sensed.

Various suggestions have poured in order to perk up the Air Quality Report. First, the air pollution index should be recorded in every four hours notwithstanding the regular 24 hours schedule followed and second, at every 20 sq. km., sensors should be situated and a medium of all the readings and locations should be posted online. With the help of technology, these two suggestions can be achieved.

Singapore is mostly affected due to the bad air pollution attributed to Indonesia.

Air pollution can affect our health in many ways with both short-term and long-term effects. Some individuals are much more sensitive to pollutants than are others. Young children and elderly people often suffer more from the effects of air pollution. The masses should be well – informed of the dangers of air pollution and it should be made well – versed with the people to not to exercise in polluted air.
