With plenty of interesting feature, Zune HD is known as a well-built music player. But as the release of Windows Phone 7 Series is approaching, it is being wondered whether or not full Zune HD functionality will be encompassed in by "Music + Video" hub in the former. It is also still not known whether Zune would come up as individual standalone music player.

Michael Yaeger of the Zune team assured that the series of Windows 7 phone will definitely have Zune HD. He also shared that the company intends to prepare for update of Zune HD firmware to be released. This new launch is expected to have noticeable feature like video codec support and Smart DJ.

Yaeger adds that Zune can is visualized as "long tail" product to carter the people desiring a portable entertainment tool apart from their phones.

When asked about the global launch of Zune, Yaeger said Microsoft is still thinking over it.
