US Health Officials Fear Another Wave of Swine Flu

The U. S. health officials have been warning the restoration of the swine flu pandemic in Maryland and the United States.

The World Health Organization had released a statement on February 25th that said that the pandemic has not been declined completely.

"It wouldn't be surprising to see another peak this year", said Marita Mike, Health Director at the University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security. "When you look at flu outbreaks in the past, there were multiple peaks", it was added.

As a precautionary measure, the health officials have announced that the vaccine will be available for free now onwards and the online appointments are available for everyone.

"It takes a couple of weeks for your immune system to catch up on the immunity you get from a vaccination", shared Mike.

As per the records maintained by Boston's Public Health Commission, around 37% of the people living in Boston were affected by the deadly H1N1 virus, last year.

Mike also said that the patients of asthma and diabetes are more prone to swine flu.
