Google’s Street View Service a Hit

A train conductor named Marc Loterijman, who serves in Southern railways in Croydon, South London, has come up with a "Street View life story", utilizing Google's Street View service.

In the story, he has described his journey from being a McDonald's employee in Telford to spending time in Aberystwyth, Wales. He has also included the view of the living rooms of all his residences, where he has lived so far and also of "student village" in Terrace Road.

The street view service provided by Google thus comes with an ability to capture all kinds of views from all angles. The service is now available in more than 25 cities in U. S.

Google has claimed that the imagery can update more than 238,000 miles of public roads.

"Street View takes mapping to a level not possible before. And with so many practical applications, it's no wonder that over two thirds of people who had tried the service said they would use Street View again", said Ed Parsons, Google's Geospatial Technologist.

The street view images can be covered by Google's car, which have got a special panoramic camera attached to its roof and the Pedestrianised areas can easily be captured with Google's tricycle.
