A survey was conducted over 3,000 people at the University of Chicago's department of obstetrics and gynecology which revealed that people suffering from poor health is interested less in sex in comparison to their healthy counterparts. The survey was conducted on the young and old. An another survey of older people showed that by the age of 55, the average sexual life expectancy of 15 years among men have been noticed and the average sexual life expectancy among women is 10 years.
Men at the age of 30, enjoy an average of 35 years of sexually energetic life in comparison with 31years for women. The researcher commented that the findings will motivate men to pursue healthier lifestyles.
The study was led by Stacy Tessler Lindau, who utilized the data from a 1995-1996 survey. The survey was conducted over 3000 men and women who were lying between the age of 25 to 74 and a 2005-2006 survey of over 3000 men and women between the age of 57 and 85.
