Durham Health Department Advise Clients of Ajax Spa to Get Tested for Infections

Durham Regional Health Department have raised an alarm urging the clients of acupuncture care at an Ajax Spa to get themselves tested for infections as it has been suspected that the operator have not properly used the control measures for infections.

Officials have warned that the tests should be conducted as soon as possible for infections like hepatitis B and C and HIV by all the clients who have visited the spa and availed the services there. The Ajax Unisex Salon and Spa's operator Jenny Tran have been arrested under the charge of violation of health protections along with allegations of pretending himself as a qualified healthcare provider.

Although no such evidence has proved till now that infections have been transmitted, but it is suspected that due to non-sterile and inappropriate infection control measures, there is a possibility of the clients getting infected. So, it has been highly recommended that check-ups should be opted by clients of the Ajax Unisex Spa.

It is being said that details about the Ajax Unisex Salon and Spa and its owner, if any found by anyone, should be reported to police at 1-800-579-1520 ext. 5224.
