Internode plans to boost International Data Links

Two major Internet service providers of Australia are determined to boost their international data links to the United States. They aim to provide the fastest, direct and the most secure international bandwidth in the USA.

Internode, the national Adelaide-based ISP, has considered to contract with the Southern Cross Cable Network for capacity expansion and bandwidth upgrade. Internode managing director, Simon Hackett, said today the company has "lit up an additional 2.5 gigabits per second of capacity this week and will implement further planned upgrades soon, to reach a total of 10 gigabits per second of protected circuit capacity on the cable".

Internode made their mind to implement the business strategy in order to meet the huge and continuous demand of the increasing number of customers. The ISP has signed a five year deal with Southern Cross in the month of February 2008. Internode has preserved two separate geographical links on Southern Cross, which extends to Los Angeles and San Jose from Sydney.

Simon Hackett, Internodes' Managing Director appreciated Southern Cross to be the most qualitative Internet path to the U. S with fully protected circuit capacity.
