Aldrin Set to Endorse US Space Mission

Former astronaut Buzz Aldrin will be delivering the keynote address at the Communications and Technology Conference, Planet 2010, in New Zealand on Saturday.

He expressed high enthusiasm for being a part of mission that will explore the space soon.

He said that one of the kiwis will definitely be a part of that team.

Aldrin is credited as one of the first astronauts who landed on moon.

He will be meeting President Obama for the final implementation of the plan that will make some Americans visit moon by 2020.

"A great statement was made by Apollo 13 which had a problem en route - failure is not an option we have got to succeed in getting them back. But if failure is not an option, don't fly, don't go into space. Its hazardous", says Aldrin.

He expects the plan to be full of exciting ideas.

The group's CEO Rob Spray shared that they had chosen Adrin to lead the conference not only because of his remarkable achievements in the field but also because of his focused and inspiring attitude.

During a breakfast interview, Aldrin said that he and Armstrong were among the back-up crew members of the 1969 moon mission.
