An electronic engineer is revealed to have designed a hardware device that allegedly manages the jail breaking or recovery of partially jail broken iPhones.

It is reported that the device can be used to either jailbreak or 'hacktivate' a new iPhone, or boot a jailbroken handset that gets stuck in recovery mode.

A 9V battery extends power, permitting users to restart their jailbroken iPhones while they are away from a computer.

Called the iDongle this device is alleged to recover a jail broken iPhone stuck in recovery mode. It is developed to operate with iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 2G & 3G all running OS 3.1, 3.1.1 or 3.1.2.

In addition, the firmware can also be updated using the USB to address any alteration with future versions of the iPhone OS.

The latest update on the website also outlines that currently the device does not operates on OS v3.1.3. However, the on-board firmware can be updated via the USB port should alterations be made to the iPhone OS.

Currently in final development stage, the device is expected to come for €30.
