Google on Thursday announced the launch of its new Product Search service on a mobile device enabling it users to now check whether products that appear in search results are in stock at select local stores.
"As of today, if you're searching for a product that is sold by participating retailers, including Best Buy, Sears, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm, you can just look for the blue dots in the search results to see if it's available in a local store," posted product managers Paul Lee and Yury Pinsky in a company blog.
The company explains that by tapping on the "In stock nearby" link displayed alongside the blue dots, mobile device users will be able to see a list of local stores that have the desired item.
The service can be used only if the user has enabled access to his or her location through My Location or has specified it manually.
The service is revealed to support iPhone, Palm WebOS phones or Android devices.
In addition, Google has also formed a public Apps Script gallery available, facilitating its users a podium where they can share their scripts.
