Males Lack Guilt, Study Reveals
Males Lack Guilt

Females are known for being more emotional and a new study has recently proved that women are more prone to “feeling guilty” than men are. Many females will now get a reason for guilt-free attitude of their male partners after most of the fights ignited by males end up females feeling guiltier.

The reason for unexpected behaviors by males is encompassed in this study published in the Spanish Journal of Psychology’s recent issue. This study observed and questioned 360 men and women, all from different age groups for scaling the amount of guilt felt by both, in different situations. It was concluded that females in their late 20s and early 30s had higher level of guilt than it was predicted. Surprisingly, older men had an elevated level of guilt feeling, concluded the study.

This decreased level of feeling guilty was best explained by Elizabeth Shirtcliff, a Psychologist and Endocrinologist at the University of New Orleans who said that its due to the fact men are slow learners.

The study also states that “men are guilt-deficient” and “lack interpersonal sensitivity” while females were reported to be experiencing guilt forced by society. This study, lead by Dr. Itziar Extebarria of the University of the Basque Country in Spain, advices that awareness by educational practices should be implemented in order to curb “guilt in women” and to increase the “interpersonal sensitivity in men”.
