A recent U. S study has suggested that people can enjoy a better sex life well into their 80s providing they remain completely fit and healthy.
In addition, the study claims that health people are almost twice as likely to enjoy an active sex life compared to than those in poor health.
It poses a significant link between physical health and sexual activity along with many aspects of sexual function, irrespective of age.
A team at the University of Chicago analysed different samples of people: one involving over 3,032 adults aged 25 to 74 years, and another with more than 3,005 adults aged 57 to 85, with each group having equal number of men and women.
At the age of 55 men can expect their sex life to last another 15 years on average, research concludes.
However, health men can add between five and seven years to their sexual lifespan, while women looses their sexual activity five years earlier than men,
In the 75 to 85 age group a mere 16.8 per cent of women revealed that sexually activity in them, compared with 38.9 per cent of men.
