This past Sunday begin with the start of Problem Gambling Awareness Week in the US, with individual states utilizing the week to spread information on different treatment and preventative options available for gambling addiction.

The push is revealed to continue on Saturday, when many states will initiated with one final push to educate.

Problem gambling remains a hidden issue that is on a high in US, expected to cause devastating effects on individuals, families and the community.

It is revealed that some people become a gambling addict in much the similar manner a person can become addicted to drugs or alcohol.

Oregon forms the part of the list of the states where gambling has exploded, however, they also are known to possess some of the top treatment centres in the country.

"Most states have done a good job of allotting funds to ensure that preventative measures are taken when they expand gambling," said Gaming Analyst Steve Schwartz, "But still more needs to be done. Gambling addiction can be a silent killer if it is not dealt with in a timely manner."
