Corey Haim's Death Allegedly Related to Prescription Drug Probe, AG says

Corey Haim's death is alleged to associate with an illegal and massive prescription-drug ring, California Attorney General Jerry Brown revealed on Friday.

Currently, Brown's office is investigating into the matter dealing an unauthorized prescription under the former child star's name that was discovered by an ongoing investigation of fake prescription-drug pads ordered from a vendor in San Diego.

"These prescriptions are very recent, and it involves Oxycontin and we're not talking just 40 pills, more than that," Brown posted in an interview Friday with CNN Radio.

The news emerged prior to the coroner has ruled on what killed Haim, the 1980s teen movie actor who faced a tough time for decades with drug addiction.

Brown alleges that the ring makes use of stolen doctor's identities for ordering prescription-drug pads that are used to write fraudulent prescriptions.

However, Brown's specification did not described whether any of the prescription drugs discovered in Haim's apartment post his death were illegally obtained.
