Reacting back to the oppositions from Tea Party movements, an official start was given to the Coffee Party Movement in US. This infant political grouping held its first inaugural day of national meetings on Saturday. This initiation was accompanied by several discussions held in coast-to-coast coffee shops. Member supporting the movement met and discussed issues with civil political talks.

The Coffee Party Movement originated just six weeks ago on Facebook by Annabel Park. By Saturday, 141,000 Facebook fans were earned by the movement showcasing the success of the movement and the amount of support it’s getting. This movement like the Tea Party has a non-mainstream political bent.

350 Coffee Party events were witnessed in the cafes in and around US and also some in abroad. This movement was the first apparent interaction between the supporters in coffee houses. Spokesman of the coffee party in Washington DC stated, "If our children acted like our politicians are acting right now they would be grounded for a very long time”.

Annabel Park said that she and her party members were trying to approach politics in a different manner. She also said that Coffee Party is a way of expressing the agitation towards the political scenario in a silent manner unlike what the Tea Party Movement did.
