A Dutch nurses' union has launched a nationwide campaign called 'I Draw The Line Here', taking a stand against sexual services, stressing that it is “definitely not a part of the country's standard healthcare”.
The campaign was launched by Dutch Nurses' Union #91 after a 42-year-old disabled man named Frankie J tried to remove his nurse from her duty when she refused to provide sexual gratification to him, to what he claimed, was a “part of his therapy”, adding that his previous nurses had not objected in providing him “a helping hand”.
According to reports, the patient tried to have her dismissed from her job, alleging that “she was not fulfilling her professional duties” when the nurse refused to perform the act he asked to, even though she had already witnessed some of her colleagues performing sexual acts with him in the past.
A statement by Dutch Nurses' Union #91 says that “Sexual Comfort to their patients was not in their job description”.
"Sexual acts can never be part of the responsibilities of carers and nurses. The question itself is an insult to the health care professional. It can be seen as sexual harassment”, said a statement released by NU #91.
