Supermarket giant Woolworths Ltd.'s Everyday Mobile was unveiled in August 2009, offering $2 SIM cards, unlocked mobile phone handsets along with pre-paid plans for sale in its supermarkets, Big W stores and other outlets.
The first seven months of launch had posed significantly positive results, with a strong take-up from parents and their young children, reveals Everyday Mobile head Graeme Veitch on Monday.
Everyday Mobile initiated with a Simple Saver pre-paid plan, offering its customers a flat rate for voice calls of a 15 cent connection and a further 15 cents for every 30 seconds of conversation to both mobiles and fixed-lines.
While, the standard text messages to standard Australian mobile will cost 15 cents.
"It does appeal to someone who uses their mobile quite differently, that means it will be different customers. But still these are typical Woolworths' shoppers", Mr. Veitch said.
The greed to grab robust performance, Everyday Mobile further launched a new pre-paid product called Chatterbox, which provides bonus talk and text credit for monthly recharges of $20, $30 and $50.
Woolworths is revealed to welcome customer feedback and even initiate plans for launching new products in the future.
