A number of health-care professionals are revealed to table with local women to discuss cervical health at a public discussion on March 22.
The Canadian Cancer Society event, which is revealed to be a candid discussion related to improving cervical health for women in this region, will reportedly take place at The Palate Restaurant on Queen Street, starting at 6 p. m.
Rosemary Boyle, manager of prevention for the Canadian Cancer Society in New Brunswick, believes that the discussion extends a great opportunity to get women talking about the potential health risks of ignoring the possibility of cervical cancer.
"By engaging women in meaningful discussions about their health, there is opportunity to further reduce the impact of this disease," he adds.
The recent figures post that nearly 1,300 Canadian women were diagnosed suffering from cervical cancer last year, with 380 deaths.
In addition, it is reported that Dr. Barbara Paterson, a professor and research chair at the University of New Brunswick; Linda Duffett-Leger, from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research; and Andrea Krawczyk, from McGill University will accompany Boyle.
