ITV HD channels will be able to bring the World Cup 2010, starting on the 2nd of April in South Africa, to the Sky and Virgin Media customers, without them having to spend an extra penny.
Earlier, the HD viewers used to get the channel by illegal ways, i. e., by adding it through the other channel options, but they were unable to record it.
Only BBC's HD Channels are accessible to the Virgin Media subscribers as of now and later on they will be able to tune in to E4 HD. An exclusive deal has been struck by Virgin Media with Channel 4 for Film 4 HD also.
FreeView HD and Freesat HD will be available by pressing on the red button. A few matches will be left out, for instance, the eight of the 65 matches in the qualifying stages.
FA Cup, the UEFA Champions Leagues and International England football games will also be telecasted on ITV 1 HD in the forthcoming weeks.
The launch of the 6th new HD channel i. e. SCI FI HD is surely good news for the Sci-Fi enthusiasts. It will be available from 13 April 2010, and is supposed to broadcast Sci-Fi favorites such as Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Legend Of The Seeker and Sanctuary and many more.
