With only a few weeks left for its official launch, Apple's iPad is now attracting more and more third party developers' interest, as has been revealed by the analytics company Flurry, which has recorded a whopping 185% rise in starts for the iPhone OS applications since the iPad was first announced on January 27.
Also, Flurry has suggested that firms which are particularly based online, like e-commerce outfits, and those founded especially to develop applications for the iPhone have emerged as the top developers of iPad apps, followed by more traditional gaming establishments and brick-and-motor retailers and manufacturers.
"Over six weeks since Apple announced the iPad, Flurry continues to measure a significant increase in iPhone OS new application starts within the system. We continue to attribute this growth to excitement generated by the impending launch of iPad", shared Flurry's Vice President of Marketing, Peter Farago, in a post on the company's official blog.
Mr. Farago also revealed that Flurry has noticed that most of the applications being developed for Apple's iPad are basically existing apps, which have been tailored to suit the tablet device better.
