The case of posting a series of vulgar-photographs on Facebook by two high school teachers is being investigated with a deep insight into the matter.
Education Queensland is inspecting the screening of the photos on the social networking website with an easy access to the students, confirmed Greg Dickman, Regional Director for Darling Downs and South West.
The posted images are of Warwick State High School teachers Ann Kerr and Helen Casey. In the images, both the teachers have been clicked in some bathroom vanity clothed in school uniform with fishnet stockings. One of the series is termed as 'First day of school'.
Although, Facebook provides an option of not disclosing photos to at least people who are not on the friend list of the user, Facebook friends of both the teachers have recently-graduated (2009) WSHS students along with many other students currently in the school.
The age and subjects taught by both the females are not yet known.
Mr. Dickman stated, "The Department of Education and Training's Code of Conduct requires its employees to ensure that the content of their private social networking sites is appropriate".
He also said that this is something that should always be kept in mind by all the social servants especially teachers as they share a huge social responsibility. Ethical Standards Unit for assessment and management takes care of all the cases of misconduct by teachers and other departmental staff said Mr. Dickman.
