Google and the Smartphone Market - The Giant Does Not Want to be Left Behind

The Nexus One might not have generated as much sales as expected, but it certainly did help Google make its mark in the smartphone market. The giant had already managed to create quite a storm in the sector with its Android operating system for mobile phones. And now, Google is trying its best to cash in on the mobile sector, both in terms of smartphones and mobile advertising.

The popularity of smartphones has now reached a never-before level, and experts think that with more and more people using them, there are good chances that users will move away from PCs completely, and in turn, advertisers would target smartphone users more than computer users.

Google is all about advertising, and introducing new and improved technologies and products to the world. The company makes all its money through ads on computers, and now with more and more advertisers looking to turn to smartphones, Google is all set to cash in on the opportunity.

Once Google enters the mobile advertising market, it goes without saying that it will rule the segment, like it has been ruling the Internet for so long.

Google has been catering to smartphone users for very long, introducing interesting and helpful services like Google Maps and Google Shopping specifically for mobile phones. And then came the Android platform which created a buzz so loud that it has still not subsided, and looks like it will not for quite sometime to come. Next came Nexus One, which just put Google more prominently on the smartphones map.

We seriously cannot wait to see what other wonderful products and services Google unveils over the coming times!
