Around 40% of BlackBerry Users are Willing to Switch to an iPhone

According to a recent survey into smartphone brand loyalty, around 40% of BlackBerry users plan to change their BlackBerry device to Apple’s iPhone when their contract expires.

Crowd Science's study revealed that BlackBerry is still the most admired Smartphone, but if RIM’s users are given the chance, they would most probably switch to any other Smartphone.

The study also revealed that about one-third of BlackBerry users were ready to change their device for Google’s Android based Nexus One.

"Blackberry as a brand just isn't garnering the loyalty seen with other mobile operating systems”, said Crowd Science CEO John Martin. He shared that the "allure of the iPhone", and the fact that Google Android is desirable, are luring Research In Motion’s users.

Google’s Android and Apple’s iPhone users are not willing to switch to any other Smartphone once their contracts are up.

BlackBerry devices are famous for their keyboards, but if compared to the iPhone and Nexus One’s on-screen software keyboards, this could urge users to sacrifice typing speed for a larger screen.
