After fewer reports of influenza A, H1N1, or Swine Flu, cases across the Burera district over the past week, officials from the Ministry of Health have announced that the spread now seems to have been contaminated. Yesterday, head of the nation's Swine Flu response team, Dr. Justin Wane shared that people are now undergoing treatment randomly and there have been no severe cases so far.
"Most of the flu cases in this district are those of seasonal flu or influenza B which is very common in the rainy season. We are now in a mitigation phase where we no longer need to take every suspected case's sample to the laboratory", he said.
Dr. Wane also revealed that it has been observed that hardly any of the flu cases recently reported has turned out to be H1N1, and daily reports have shown that the number of cases is actually significantly going down. The doctor also went on to stress that in case more H1N1 influenza A reports come to light, more samples will be shifted to the National Reference Laboratory, post which the patients would be put under treatment immediately.
