New Yorkers Would be Greatly Helped with New Restaurant Grading System

For all those New Yorkers who have been disgusted and stripped of their appetite by scurrying vermin or unclean surrounding while eating out, a new letter grading system, starting this summer, would be a great help as it would let them decide which is the best and cleanest place to eat.

A latter grade system is being introduced by the New York City Board of Health, which would be effective from July this year, to rate the sanitary conditions of eateries and their kitchens and storerooms, that have been thoroughly inspected by health officials.

"Anything that is going encourage people to clean up their act and protect the public is a good thing overall", said Tom Colicchio, owner of Craft and other restaurants.

Although the grading system would rate restaurants from A downwards, it seems like it would be a while for diners and gourmets to come into the B and C ratings' categories.

Restaurants which had previously failed to meet the sanitary criteria in order to qualify have been given another month to prepare for yet another inspection by the City health authorities.
