Better ventilation needed in Bega library

The air quality in Bega library is being fixed following assessment report, the Bega Valley Shire Council in the New South Wales South East said.

The independent assessment found that a better ventilation system was needed, as the airflow in the library was poor.

The library will be closed for public once the inside temperature reaches 30 degree for one hour, the Council has decided.

Group Manager of Community and Relationships, Leanne Barnes says a range of solutions are being discussed and added, "We have some initial quotations about moving to an air-conditioned system, and that is in the order of about $120,000, and that will go through the budget bid process. But there are some other stages and things that we can put in place prior to that."
