This week, Mazda has announced the 2010 Mazda6 range in Australia, with a lot of external and internal modifications, mechanical and equipment upgrades applied to the range.

The 2010 Mazda6 range offers better value owing to its revised visuals, interior refinements and low pricing.

However, external changes are more visible. The front bumper has been redesigned in line with the wide-grinned countenance of the Mazda3, CX-7 and CX-9.

A pair of small air diversion sections is positioned under the car, just ahead of the front wheels is another fresh element in the 2010 range.

By channeling air around the wheel wells, these reduce turbulence and improve aerodynamic efficiency.

Two new wheel designs give a refreshed look to the exterior styling.

While the base model Limited is fitted with 16-inch steel wheels, the Classic, Diesel, Touring and Luxury have 17-inch alloys.

The Luxury Sports and Diesel Sports are equipped with an 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels.

Cabin fittings are basically similar to last year's model, but with a number of smart changes to renew its look.

A satellite navigation system with seven-inch LCD display is available on the Luxury, Luxury Sports and Diesel Sports for an additional $2800.

Safety gear for all variants consists of ABS, stability control, traction control, emergency brake force distribution (EBD), brake assist (BA), anti-whiplash front headrests and front, side and curtain airbags.

Two engines are available in the Mazda6 range, one petrol and one diesel.
