The father of an 8-year old boy who disappeared along with his mother last weekend is reported to have arrived in Washington in search for them.
Jay Carver reached Seattle-Tacoma International Airport from New York late Tuesday.
He revealed that he planned to hire a car and drive to Olympia, where his former partner and their son were last witnessed Saturday night.
Their abandoned van was found Sunday morning on a remote Puget Sound beach.
Despite searches by divers, boats and aircraft, investigators have till date unable to locate firm evidence in the case.
Jay Carver told Seattle television stations that he's frayed and wants to land in the forest area and begin with looking for 29-year-old Shantina Smiley and 8-year-old Azriel Carver. Divers and investigators have found no sign of them.
However, the van Smiley drove was found Sunday in an abandoned position, partially submerged in water on a remote Puget Sound beach in the Olympia area.
