AT&T’s New Charger to Create Environmental Awareness

Ways to spread eco friendly awareness across the globe has been a prior concern in today’s date. People and companies are doing their best to spread the consciousness.

As said “small things make a difference”, you might want to bring about a change by getting a new AT&T charger for your cell phone which has been created as a part of its endeavor to be environmentally aware.

Unlike common chargers which constantly draw electricity when left plugged to the wall even when the phone is removed, the AT&T Zero charger has an automatic system of sensing the phone getting unplugged, and immediately cuts power supple for the socket.

After estimations that leaving around 80 percent chargers plugged into a wall for a year could draw enough electricity to brew 3 to 4 million cups of coffee each day or electricity to power 24,000 homes per year, getting the AT&T charger definitely seems to be a great idea.

It’s said that the cost of the charger will be similar to the present replacement chargers by AT&T.

There are no specifications as to which phones are going to be compatible with the charger but according to Spokeswoman Jeannie Hornung it would be available for AT&T’s “most popular devices”. It has been judged that it would at least support Blackberry phones. She also said that since the charger carries a USB interface, it could also be compatible to Apple’s iPhone.
