Faulty Vaccine Case Reported by China Economic Times is Being Investigated, Says

Following the report stating that faulty vaccination lead to deaths of four kids and also resulted in a number of children falling sick in northern Shanxi province, an insightful investigation has been ordered by the China's Health Ministry. China has mostly been blanketed with certain “product safety” scandals, and faulty vaccine case is another one in row.

This issue was highlighted by China Economic Times on Wednesday which cited reports regarding the insecure encephalitis, hepatitis B, rabies vaccines turning fatal for four children and causing serious illness to 75 other children. This report was backed by a month long investigation, said the reporter Wang Keqin who reported it. He stated, “What I wrote was based on evidence”.

The report said that the vaccines got contaminated due to summer heat. The report also states the names of the children who died or had medical problems due the faulty vaccinations.

The Health Ministry stated on its website, moh. gov. cn, that matter was being inspected. The website reads, “We have immediately begun an investigation and demanded the Shanxi health authorities report as soon as possible”. The charges were denied by Li Shukai, Deputy Head of the Shanxi Health Department, said the State news agency Xinhua.
