Community Campaign Launched Against Mental Health Plan

The New South Wales Nurses Association is revealed to launch a community campaign, which is aimed at stopping plans to substitute mental health nurse managers in the Illawarra with non-clinical staff.

The association reveals that the South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Health Service looks forward to reclassify the positions which head the Wollongong, Lake Illawarra and Nowra community mental health teams.

The association is currently, seeking qualified RMNs to work as Permanent clinical nurse advisors within Primary Care in Central London, South East and South Central.

The association's team manager, Lisa Kremmer, claims that the decision is actually an unfaithful decision towards people with mental health problems.

"If the majority of nurses working in that community mental health services don't have access to a manager with clinical experience and qualifications, they're concerned about the impact on care for the clients", she adds.
