Exego Performance Amplified Using Riverbed Technology

Automotive firm Exego Group, known for its Repco brand, has said that it has amplified its IT infrastructure more than threefold by using Riverbed technology.

The group has four major business units and it runs a network of 369 stores with a team of more than 4,000 employees across ANZ areas.

After installing 17 Riverbed Steelhead appliances across its WAN, the company has observed a "more than threefold improvement in application performance", the firm said.

Garry Cleaver, Exego Group's Technical Services Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said, "We are continually updating our network to create a more efficient IT infrastructure".

With restricted bandwidth, both in-country and internationally, the firm desired to enhance the performance of existing and future applications, without having to purchase more bandwidth, he said.

Riverbed gave Exego Group performance benefits and ease-of-deployment that they required, at the right cost. Riverbed gave the company a wide optimisation answer, not only for email communications, but also for other important applications. The enhanced performance that Riverbed delivers has allowed them to apply extra applications with zero performance problems or extra WAN charges.

Exego Group has also arranged 30 licenses of Riverbed Steelhead Mobile for its travelling executives.

Overall bandwidth capacity has swelled 2.6X.

Exego Group at present routes about 200GB of Lotus Notes traffic across its WAN at any one time.
