A recent and surprising discovery has revealed that recession has actually managed to bring families closer. Surprised? Everyone would be, we were too! It looks like facing financial difficulties has actually forced children to move back and live with their parents. Most of the American houses nowadays are then the quintessential "multi-generational" homes.

So is this a good thing then? Maybe if we look at it from the traditional and ethical point of view. But let's not forget that this is pulling the economy down as well, as people now require lesser homes, which would directly hit the housing sector. Also, most people now seem to harbor the thought that their childhood living home is an "attractive living situation", more-so because most of people ended up losing their jobs during recession, and this could mean that they might never want to try and live outside and alone again, or look for serious, higher paying jobs.

Immigration is always a driving force for the economy, and if the trend of living with parents and children continues for long, the country's economy, which is still fragile and unstable, might be at the receiving end.

What is even more distressing that the trend has managed to affect adult of all age groups. So this just means that there is a good chance that people across all age groups might end up loving their new and simple lives so much that they would never want to go back to living independently, which is the only thing that makes people want to earn more and work harder.

For all those who thought that this was a good thing as families would now all be big, happy and close-knit, maybe it is time to rethink.
