Match Day is generally known as the first day of the rest of your life by many students. The largest graduating class in Vanderbilt University School of Medicine history conveyed big results in Light Hall as 116 matches with some of the country’s top residency programs provided a glow for the next generation of doctors.

Match Day, the conclusion of a yearlong procedure that brings together students with medical centers and hospitals across the country through the National Residency Match Program (NRMP), is a longstanding ritual filled with joy, excitement, accomplishment, occasional misery and lots of anxiety.

The occasion also had some very interesting instances, such as creative dance moves performed by students and their proud parents applauded for them. All this added a nice flavor to the whole occasion.

Antar, who would be joining Johns Hopkins Hospital for internal medicine, said interviewing at the country’s foremost medical centers has confirmed to her how well Vanderbilt arranges its students and supports them all through the procedure. She says that she is grateful to have spent her valuable time in Vanderbilt under the guidance of such experienced people.
