Anguished Mother Calls for Ban on Party Drug

According to the latest buzz, last night, a Scots teenager died after consuming a drug.

Mother of the teenager has urged for a ban on the drug before it takes a toll on more lives.

Angie Kiltie said that Jordan, her 19-year-old son, collapsed and died at the family home in Ayr after taking mephedrone, a legally produced cocaine/ecstasy substitute.

The drug, locally known as "moonshine", is commonly available from online retailers, adult entertainment shops and street peddlers. Since its chemical composition is a little different from existing drugs, vendors are able to sell it legally provided it is not publicized for human consumption.

A grieving Ms. Kiltie said, "Nobody knows the long-term effects. How many more kids is this going to kill? How many more mums will have to go through this?"

However, four days after Jordan's death, mephedrone was still on sale at the BodyStyle International adult entertainment shop in Ayr.

Yesterday, Ayr MSP John Scott voiced his concern to ban the drug.

Strathclyde Police is inspecting the death, but said that it can take months before the results of toxicology test come out.
