Graco Harmony High Chairs Pose Danger

Graco Harmony high chairs are said to pose a potential threat of breakage and thereby have been recalled from the market. Approximately 1.2 million of the chairs are to be removed.

The U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and Graco Children’s Products Inc., Atlanta, Georgia, declared the recall on Thursday. So far, there have been 24 Graco Harmony high chair related injuries among children along with 464 incidents of chair tipping.

The chairs are unsafe, as screws holding the front legs of the chair can slacken and fall out. This results in fracturing of the plastic brackets, causing the chair to topple over without warning.

The Harmony high chairs were in production from November 2003 to December 2009. They are no longer manufactured. The company has released a list of model numbers that are being recalled. The model number is imprinted on the label located on the underside of the foot rest.

Consumers in possession of the chairs are requested to stop its use with immediate effect. They can contact Graco Children's Products, Atlanta and receive a free repair kit. The calls can be made on the toll-free number (877) 842-3206. Consumers can also log on to the company website, www. gracobaby. com, to obtain the free kit.
