In Canada, April is being recognized as the Cancer Awareness month in its traditional way, which is being followed since the last 40 years. The Canadian Cancer Society is encouraging volunteers to come forward to be the part of the door to door campaign for the wise purpose of raising funds.
The campaign has been scheduled to be held from April 1 to 30. The regions of Oyama, Armstrong, Lumby, and West Kelowna would be covered under the planned programme.
All the volunteers would be given their identification for recognition. Jackie George, the campaign co-coordinator commented, “The door-to-door campaign has been going on for years and years and is one of the most fundamental fundraisers we have”.
The objective of the program is to raise maximum amount of funds to help the cause. The society is asking people to donate generously, as it is the only campaign in Canada which is determined to fight all kinds of cancer. So far, only 300 volunteers have desired to participate in the drive to fight against cancer but George says, “More are always welcome”.
