The latest website unveiled by the B. C. Government is lacking one of the key elements which were recommended by the province's agent, Kim Carter.

The website, SeniorsBC. ca, is meant for seniors and gives them information pertaining to health, finances transportation, continuing education and many more services which the elderly can avail, says Healthy Living Minister Ida Chong. This will make it easier for the seniors to get information online.

Ida Chong said, "They said 'we want it all in one place, we want it one site and we want it to be a very friendly site, with very specific areas that we are interested in to live a healthy lifestyle".

However, the website fails to give in-depth information about individual residential care facilities, which was earlier suggested by ombudsperson Kim Carter, in a report in released in December.

Though the addition of more information about care homes has been promised for the possible expansion of the website, yet they will not be ranked.

Carter made 10 recommendations in her report, which include the website information on care homes and the requirement for more support for resident as well as family councils at such homes.
