Marijuana Grow Operation Busted in Fintry Area

In the incident of a most recent drug bust, a marijuana grow operation has been shut down by RCMP on the west side of Okanagan Lake. The officers in the North Okanagan searched a residence in the 7200 block of Dunwaters Drive in the Fintry area off Westside Rd and found about 1,725 plants inside the home.

The officers in the North Okanagan searched a residence in the 7200 block of Dunwaters Drive in the Fintry area off Westside Rd. A 24-year-old man was arrested on the spot, as per what RCMP Spokesperson named Gord Molendyk confirmed.

Molendyk said, "They then searched the house and located 1,725 marijuana plants in the basement, the investigation also discovered a hydro bypass in the house". Grow-ops have been targeted in Vernon, Coldstream and Westwold in the last week.

The suspect, who has been arrested, will be facing additional charges of possession for the purpose and cultivation charges as well as theft of telecommunication charges for the hydro by-pass, under the Controlled Drug and Substance act.
