Nudibranchs, often called "naked gills", are startling for divers, aquarists and tide-poolers. They come in different shapes, vibrant colors and vary in size from one inch to up to 24 inches. The dazzling colors of these underwater creatures protect them from being hunted by predators.
David and Debi Henshaw, two prominent British photographers, explored these wonderful creatures in the seas of Indonesia and Philippines. David further said, "Some are more common than others, and it's always very exciting when we spot one we haven't seen before. People dedicate their careers to finding and classifying them and you can get to be a bit of a buff.
They're fascinating things. "Being slugs, they're not the fastest of animals so they're excellent models for a photographer".
Debi claims that the slugs found by them during the diving trips in Indonesia and Philippines are different from what are found in their home country of England. The explorers in the world have so far proclaimed 3000 variants of naked gills with a life span extending from 4 weeks to a span of 1 year.
