Nintendo Consoles May be Used for Educational Purposes in Japan
Mario

Shigeru Miyamoto, the brain behind the Mario franchise, is of the view that Nintendo is making attempts to get schools to use Nintendo consoles and handheld units as educational tools. Nintendo is trying hard to gain an entrance for Nintendo DS in schools in Japan.

The Nintendo DS is a dual-screen handheld game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo. DS is already being used by galleries, museums and aquariums. If its use gains approval in schools, the company will shoot ahead of its competitors in this arena.

Miyamoto claimed that the move comes as an attempt to widen the audience of the DS. It is anticipated that children and young adults will quickly adapt to the DS consoles since they are user friendly and simple to handle.

Nintendo is already out, beating consoles from other companies. However, Miyamoto was reluctant to remark on the issue and only shared that Nintendo wished to expand the number of users who access the internet through the Wii console. The sales of the Wii console have been heightened owing to its popularity among women and senior citizens.
